At Town N Country, we recognize that every pet is different. That’s why we don’t have a one size fits all solution for parasite control. For many of our dogs, we recommend Simparica® and ProHeart®. For most of our cats, we suggest Revolution®.
For some of our dogs, however, we recommend Trifexis®, especially dogs who have allergies. Trifexis® will prevent fleas, many intestinal parasites, and mites. We often prescribe Trifexis® for dogs with flea allergies because of its incredibly quick kill. It prevents multiple bites, in fact, one bite and the flea is dead within 30 minutes.
We want to make doubly sure that our patients who use Trifexis® remember that it does not control ticks. Pets who are given Trifexis® need to use another form of tick prevention, or be extra vigilant when your pet ventures offleash® or in places where ticks are plentiful.
